The Story… Part of it, anyway!
HEYYY! I’m Ashley… the person behind The Flour Garden. I’ve always dreamed of owning a cozy spot where people could linger over good food, warm drinks, and hang out with their favorite people. For over ten years, I worked in healthcare as an ophthalmic technician, and while I loved caring for patients, I eventually felt pulled toward a more creative, stress and drama-free, community-oriented life. Baking just kind of happened to me. Cliche, I knowwww.
Today, The Flour Garden is a home-based microbakery specializing in long-fermented sourdough breads, baked goods, and elegant cakes… made slowly, thoughtfully, and in small batches. I bake from my home in Lancaster, Ohio, where we’ve converted an entire chunk of our home into a dedicated baking space. (If you’re interested in seeing my space, please check out my Instagram!) I live with my fiancé, Jay, (wedding coming 10/2026, and yes I plan to make our wedding cake, ha!), and my two boys, Anderson and Theo. The three of them are my biggest supporters, most honest taste testers, and never complain when I have an extra cookie or two lying around. :)
Beyond baking, I love reading, making art, gardening, swimming, spending time outside, and hanging out with my family. I’m happiest when my hands are busy, and the house is clean and smells like bread & butter!
This microbakery is both a dream in motion and a work in progress! Part culinary adventure, part creative outlet, part mental breakdown… :P and hopefully/maybe one day, a cozy brick-and-mortar space filled with plants, good quality food and good quality company!
